One of the most beloved and iconic cult filmmakers, Mario Bava was an innovator and creative force in cinema. While he worked in many genres, Bava will always be best known for his horror films. Stylish and frenetic, Bava manifested some of the most beautiful and haunting images to mesmerize and terrify audiences.

 

Cinematic Void had the distinct pleasure to ensemble a five day; eleven film retrospective featuring brand new restoration and beautiful archival 35mm print. Each night was thematically paired featuring Occult/Satanism, sadomasochism, paranormal and of course the sub-genre that Bava kicked off, the giallo (Italian for murder mystery/thrillers).
